How the Program Works
01
Your Intake
You've already completed your health history and any required labs. Your NP reviews this before your first visit so your appointment can focus on you, not paperwork.
02
Your First Visit
A live video visit with your NP to confirm your plan, answer questions, and authorize your first prescription. This visit is required before any medication is sent — it's what makes sure your care is genuinely personalized, not a form-and-ship transaction.
03
Your Medication Ships
Once your visit is complete, your prescription is sent electronically to our pharmacy and shipped directly to you. Standard shipping is included in your plan; overnight shipping is available for an additional fee if you need it faster.
04
Ongoing Check-Ins
Each month, you'll complete a short check-in — how you're feeling, any side effects, your progress — reviewed by your NP before your next month ships. If anything you report needs a closer look, we'll reach out to schedule a live visit rather than just refilling automatically.
Your Medication
Your medication is a compounded, injectable GLP-1 (or dual/combination) prescription, prepared specifically for you by our licensed pharmacy partner. Unlike some online providers, we'll always tell you exactly which pharmacy compounds your medication — ask your care team any time.
- Store your medication as directed on the pharmacy label (typically refrigerated) — do not freeze
- Inject subcutaneously (under the skin) once weekly, on the same day each week, as instructed by your NP
- Rotate injection sites each week — abdomen, thigh, or upper arm — to reduce irritation
- If you miss a dose: if it's been less than 4 days since your scheduled day, take it as soon as you remember. If it's been more than 4 days, skip it and resume your regular schedule at the next scheduled dose. Never double up.
How Your Dose Progresses
Most patients start at a lower dose and increase gradually over time — this is normal and by design; it's how your body adjusts with the fewest side effects. Your NP decides when (and whether) to increase your dose based on how you're tolerating your current one, not on a fixed calendar. If you're doing well and don't need to increase, that's a good outcome, not a delay.
Managing Side Effects
Most side effects are mild and improve as your body adjusts. Common early side effects include:
- Nausea or mild stomach upset
- Constipation or diarrhea
- Reduced appetite
- Mild fatigue
Message your care team if side effects are bothersome or not improving — we may adjust your dose or offer guidance to help.
Reaching Your Care Team
- Non-urgent questions: message your care team through your patient portal — expect a response within 24 hours
- Something you're unsure about: reach out anytime. We'd rather hear from you than have you guess.
- Emergencies: call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. Our telehealth team cannot provide emergency care.
Your Plan & Billing
Your plan is billed monthly with no long-term contract — pause or cancel any time by messaging your care team. Your price is set by your current dose tier and only changes if you and your NP decide to move to a new tier.
- Reached and held your maintenance dose? Ask your care team if you qualify for our 3 month discount.
A Note on Your Care Team
As with any collaborative care arrangement, you may be cared for by a nurse practitioner working under the supervision of a collaborating physician. You have the right to be seen by the physician upon request — just let your care team know.
Questions Before You Start?
We'd rather answer a question now than have you wonder later — message your care team any time through your patient portal, or visit our Contact page.
